Personal information: I'm a 24 year old lesbian pagan who likes...well, look at my interests and that should give you a better idea. I was born and raised in College Station, TX and I'm currently living with my Mum for a year while I get things sorted. I graduated from Sam Houston State University in May of 09 with a BA in Political Science and Criminal Justice and a minor in German. I'm currently taking a year off of school to work while I attempt to get into either Indiana University or the University of Texas for assorted graduate work in political science.
If you're already one of my friends or you're just feeling randomly generous, my Amazon.com wishlist can be found here. I try to keep it updated, so feel free to check it out. Plus, you can see if there's anything I want that you know I would despise and tell me.
I have wacky taste in music. In my collection, one may find eighteennineteentwenty I've lost count of how many languages and nationalities. There really isn't any genre I won't listen to. I have showtunes, rock, rap, country, pop, classical, techno and folk tunes...plus some other genres that I know I'm forgetting.
Yes, I did just reveal some pretty personal stuff about myself. But, anyone who thinks that they can now take this information and stalk me or whatever...just don't. That Criminal Justice degree? Not just a pretty piece of paper. I will nip anything like that in the bud. Fast. Yes, I do know how to do that. Even on the internet.
Most of my posts are random personal updates, currently being fed in once a day from Twitter, so if you friend me, be aware of that. But all of my stories, vids and icons do get posted. Also, anytime I critique an episode or a movie or a book, it will be posted. If you're curious, check my tags. They're not perfect cause I keep changing shit, but meta is listed under fandom related tags. Still, every entry I make is tagged and tags are fairly clearly fandom or personal related.
I'm hopelessly addicted to CNN. Seriously. I can tell time by what's on CNN and not just hour to hour. People have tested me and I'm accurate within about ten minutes. Scary, neh? Curious what's got me so interested? Check out their Political Ticker.
And the most important: since I've started doing more with fandom related stuff, I've decided to try and list my fandoms and pairings. I don't write all of these, I don't read all of these, but I do have at least one fic/story idea/vid/something for each of these. I also do use top/bottom conventions, so if I list someone first, that means that is how I prefer to read them...if I list them twice, then I'll read switchfic. If you don't know what that means, then don't worry. Or you could ask me. I'll try and explain.
A good portion of these are slash or femslash. Okay...most of them. What can I say? Breeders are boring. Yes, there are threesomes. No, it's not a typo. Three can make things better!
A couple of these are separated by an ampersand (&). Those are not shippy pairings. Eww. Not pairings at all. Those, I just like to see the relationship between the characters develop into a deep friendship or whatever familial relationship already exists. At the same time, there are pairings that are various 'cest pairings (not stating the full word to avoid witch hunts). My personal views on the subject are complicated and you are more than welcome to ask me about them, however, I will say that fandom related, I will only read stories written about consenting adults. I have seen what happens when children are involved and I absolutely do not advocate that under any circumstances. Ever.
I didn't realize I had this many fandoms...damn. Some of them are older and I don't read them as much, but I still go back for nostalgia reading. I know that some seem a little juvenile... but believe me when I say that I make them very *not* juvenile. Also, I do update this list on a regular basis as I discover more fandoms and more pairings.
So, NaNo. It's a love/hate relationship. I love when I can participate and I hate when I can't. I'm on for this year. I'm continuing what I started in 2008 and won with and discovered has probably another 200,000 words to it.
From 08: I won! I wrote over 50K in a month, even skipping a little over a week because I was sick. As of 10 December 2008, that story is actually over 60K words, but incomplete. I'm still trying to finish it, but creative time has been in short supply for awhile now. Eventually, though, it *will* be finished.
